GLOBAL MOSAIC

There’s a growing consensus that educating and supporting young women creates a positive ripple effect and lifts up entire countries. Around the world, local organizations are finding creative ways to empower young women. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Hero Women Rising combines social media and grassroots activism to overcome poverty, war and patriarchal traditions. In Dallas, Texas, where the high school pregnancy rate is 50 percent above the U.S. average, NTARUPT’s filmmaking contest empowers teens to educate each other on reproductive choices. Ntarupt also partners with the Texas Women’s Foundation to produce the Young Women’s Initiative-Dallas (YWI-Dallas), launched to empower and affirm young women of color ages 17-24 from Dallas’ southern and western sectors.

Ntarupt, the Texas Women’s Foundation, and Hero Women Rising in the Democratic Republic of Congo were brought together by the outstanding California-based team at Global Mosaic to take part in the documentary, “YOUNG WOMEN RISING: Could Empowering Girls Transform the World?” The documentary has aired online, Apple TV, Roku, Link TV, KCET-TV in California, and most recently in North Texas through KERA-TV/PBS-Channel 13.

To complement the airing, we are bringing together a global virtual panel.

Ntarupt is pleased to announce our first global virtual panel…Registration link will be posted soon! Follow us on Facebook for updates and to join the conversation!
